Why should I hire a sleep coach?
Hiring a sleep coach can have a huge impact on your family’s well-being. Here’s why:
- Expert Advice: We bring specialized knowledge and experience in children's sleep patterns and challenges. Our expertise enables us to identify issues and provide effective solutions tailored to your child's specific needs.

- Reduce Stress: Navigating the vast amount of sleep advice available online can be overwhelming and time-consuming. A sleep coach streamlines this process by providing clear, actionable steps.
- Address Specific Issues: Whether you're dealing with bedtime resistance, frequent nighttime awakenings, early morning awakenings, or naptime issues, we can address specific issues with targeted strategies, making your journey to better sleep more efficient and effective.

When is it better to wait before starting a process?
While sleep coaching can benefit many families, there are certain situations where it may be best not to use a sleep coach yet:
- Medical Concerns: If your child has any underlying medical conditions or sleep disorders, it is important to discuss these with a healthcare provider before beginning sleep coaching.
- Major Life Changes: If your family is going through any major changes, such as moving to a new home, starting daycare, or welcoming a new sibling, it may be best to wait until things have stabilized before beginning sleep coaching.
- Extreme Stress or Trauma: If your child or family is going through a period of extreme stress or trauma, such as the loss of a family member or a major life event, it is important to prioritize emotional well-being over sleep training.
- Developmental milestones: During periods of rapid developmental change, such as learning to crawl, walk, or talk, some disruptions in sleep are normal. It may be best to wait until these milestones have passed before beginning sleep coaching, as your child’s sleep patterns may naturally improve as they become accustomed to their new skills.
Ultimately, the decision to start with a sleep coach or not depends on your family’s individual circumstances and needs. If you’re not sure if this is the right time to start sleep coaching, you can contact us and we can explore the possibilities together.

What if I don't see any change?
With hard work on your part and my personal guidance you will see results! Know that this may take some time. Children need to adjust to the new schedule.
Every success will be celebrated and I will encourage you to continue with the coaching. I ask every parent or caregiver to adhere to this:
- Make sure every parent and/or caregiver involved wants to improve your baby's sleep.
- Be consistent and follow the method and my daily advice.
If necessary, we go a step further and can:
- Check for any unresolved or undiagnosed medical problems.
- Seek support from the pediatrician to ensure there are no lactation or feeding problems.
-
What does the process entail?
You can book a free introductory meeting (15 minutes) with me – this way you can find out whether I am the right person to support your family, and I can advise you on which package is most suitable for your situation.
The next step is to purchase your package. I will send you an intake form and a sleep diary to fill out (the duration of this is determined on a case by case basis, but it is usually 3 days). Then we will schedule our consultation.
You will then receive either a follow-up email with suggestions or your customized sleep plan. After this, the level of support is determined by the package you purchased.
-
Will my baby cry during the journey?
We do not use a "cry it out" method. Instead, I use a holistic, gentle sleep training approach that does not involve any form of "cry it out."
So, no tears?
Unfortunately, no one can guarantee that there will be no tears, so our goal is always to have as few tears as possible. However, it is important to realize that any time we make changes to the way things are done, some tears and frustration are to be expected. Remember, you are helping your little one learn a new skill, and they will express their frustration or disapproval of this new way of doing things through tears.
There is a world of difference between "cry it out" tears and protest tears. With the presence, support and comfort of a parent who is with them, we will learn this new skill.

How can I prepare for our conversation?
When you book a consultation, I will contact you by email with an intake form to fill out, as well as a 3-day sleep diary. This contains many questions about your current situation, your preferences and what you want to achieve. This way we can both prepare well for the conversation. Furthermore, I only ask you to be yourself. This way we get the most out of the session.
-
Do you come to our home or are all consultations online?
All consultations and follow-up conversations take place online.
If you would like someone to visit your home, you can contact us. Please note that additional costs will be charged for a home consultation.

Is it possible to speak Dutch during the sleepconsultation(s)?
